Here’s the studio in the loft @atelierair where I have created a number of works also lots of drawing and have many new ideas inspired by the Chateau the surrounding landscape and the most wonderful lace museum I discovered at Alençon. The best part was working along side my fellow artists talking about art and life and laughing like old friends. #art #artist #instagram #painting #love #instagood

I am currently at an art residency in France at the Château de Cerisay, near Le Mans. The first few days getting use to the cold and waking to snow although pretty it is cold. The Chateau with its own moat and chapel is beautiful The art studio is in the loft above what would have been the barn and my corner looks out over farm buildings watching the snow or rain fall or sun breaking through the clouds. It is an ideal spot to reset rethink and take a moment to just reflect. After four back to back shows I was tired arriving here and just walking in the French countryside laughing and discussing art with my fellow art residency mates drinking lots of wine eating even more cheese and bread I have slowly started to relax and refocus. More than anything though I feel so much gratitude to those that have helped and surrounded me back home who make me able to paint and make art everyday. Over the next few days I will post more from my little corner of France.
